Building Rapport builds Trust
In this week’s video we look at a couple of tips to building rapport and ultimately trust.
Do you want to be that person who has the ability to consistently put themselves in unfamiliar situations and be able to build rapport with others easily? This is a skill some struggle to master whether it be in the workplace, in meetings or with customers. Learning to do this effectively will see opportunities open up for you.
Building rapport is done through various ways. Sharing stories, experiences, insights and existing networks will develop some common ground. When we establish this connection we start to build trust, exactly what is needed to have someone want to work with you.
When sharing insights and building rapport about ourselves, here are a couple of tips:
-
being Authentic is key. Be yourself and let others see the real you… this will give them an insight in to the person they will be dealing with going forward
-
be Curious about them. Making everything about you will not give them the feeling you care about them and working with them.
This week take on situations, whether they be meetings with team members, customers or others you don’t know, and focus on being Authentic and getting curious about THEM.
Let me know how you get on and whether this rapport building helps you win that contract, get that job or sign up a new client !
Cheers
