Challenges and change

“Change can be frightening, and the temptation is often to resist it. But change almost always provides opportunities – to learn new things, to rethink tired processes, and to improve the way we work”. Klaus Schwab

Ever felt like you’ve hit a flat spot? Making things happen becomes a challenge and you and your teams aren’t getting the results you expect? You generally feel like you are operating at 100 miles an hour but not going anywhere… this can become the start of a downward spiral towards less activity and even inactivity.

Recognising when this funk hits us is key. Identifying quickly when your effort isn’t getting the results and creating the momentum you want allows you to re-assess your effort and refocus on action that will bring the results.

Here are 3 tips to help create your momentum:

  1. Accept you are where you are – denying you are in a rut and not getting the results you want will keep you there. To create change we first need to recognise change is needed and this comes with accepting your current situation as reality

  2. Get clear on what you want – knowing the results you want from your effort allows you to set targets and goals. A Brisbane mentor of mine uses the phrase “If you can’t measure it you can’t manage it” regularly…. it’s so true so get some targets in place and check in regularly to measure your progress

  3. Believe Believe Believe – “Self belief is an inside job”…. creating change starts with you believing by changing the way you do things you will get the results you want. Reset your path, take new action and the results will come !

This week, implement these three tips and see how much more you can achieve and what different results you get.

Hit the “forward to friends” link and let those in your networks see how they can do this for themselves.

Feel you need some assistance to make this happen, send a confidential note to strategy@mentorisgroup.com.au and we’ll help you create the change.

Have an awesome week and keep raising the bar!
