Having recently accepted a head coaching role, it became apparent that I was now the one who was responsible for the direction of the team. Simply being a member of the team was not an option, unless we were setting out to get average results. Leading by Example was the only way forward

So what does ‘leading by example’ mean for you? Whether we have just us in our team or we have many, we have the choice to set the standard.

Here are 3 tips to how you can set standards for you and your team:

  1. Get clear on your Outcomes – starting out with a clear idea on where you are heading and what it will look like when you get there helps identify the standards required to get there

  2. Document & Display – communicating the standards is key. Ensuring all those expected to meet the standards are clear, will be constant reminders of the targets

  3. Take action – standards printed on a wall may as well be a painting if we don’t take action. Constantly ask yourself am I meeting the standards set and can we raise the bar to get even better results.

This week, check in on the last time you documented and communicated your expected standards. If it’s been a while, maybe it’s time to set them. If facilitation will help, let’s set up a time to get your strategy in place.

Share with those you know who will benefit from reading it and have an awesome week !

Cheers
