More than ever, we as humans are craving face to face connection. The move towards more online interaction is definitely a time saver, something that is also valuable. Yet to REALLY connect and build that level of trust that says “I value you for making time to connect face to face”… that’s what people are starting to crave again and it creates an even stronger bond.
We were asked to co-facilitate a full day workshop last week and the following was a common comment that came up across the day….. “we love being on zoom and it saves us having to travel, but it can’t really replace the impact you can have in a face to face conversation. We feel we get so much more out of being in the same room having a conversation”. This highlighted a trend we’ve seen over the past 2-3 months which going forward could be a game changer in your circles.

- Your Clients – making time to connect directly and see their environment gives a greater understanding of what’s impacting their space. It gives you an opportunity to see, feel, experience their space so they get the feeling that you get it. “Now that you’ve been here, you can understand why i’m frustrated, you can feel what I feel, you can understand why we are being so successful because of this… now you understand !
- Your Team – when teams are being stretched, and currently most teams are being asked to step up and lean in, it’s often overlooked that they are still human. Making time to sit and listen, especially on ways to make things even more efficient from their perspective, is supremely powerful. We often represent our time as being valuable, so to make this available to those in our teams shows we value them over this precious commodity.
- Yourself – to ensure you are able to steer the ship in a direction and manner that matters to you, you first need to ensure you are on track with where you want the ship to go… as our businesses are a reflection of us. Keeping you on track through who you are being, helps ensure your direction is one you want being reflected in your business.
It may sound super simple and guess what… it is. Focus on what the humans in your circles need, then find a way to be super present in their space and watch you form even stronger connections and get even stronger results.
