Promote Gratitude
“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation”. Brian Tracy
As we come in to the pre Christmas period, it is easy to become overwhelmed with the last minute requests, the workload and the expectations of short turnaround timelines. As much as we plan, this time of year is always going to be a crazy time.
By maintaining focus on those things that matter to us, that we are grateful for and why we do what we do, will help get you through this period and ensure the break you have can be one to rest and recharge with those who matter to you.
Here are 3 tips to help maintain your focus in this busy period:
1. Things that matter – valuing you and your time will help deliver those things that are on your list of deliverables. Saying no doesn’t have to mean no, just not yet. Your time is valuable and others need to see the value in letting you manage your time efficiently
2. Being Grateful – revisiting these, especially in busy and challenging times, allows us to bring an element of perspective to our schedule. Being grateful for the quality team you have around you will foster a culture of “Can do” attitude.
3. Communicate – the easiest thing to do when we get overwhelmed is keep things to ourselves and stop communicating. The opposite is actually what’s required, making sure others are aware early of your time/priority challenges early. This removes uncertainty of delivery and allows expectations to be reset if needed.
Regardless of the speed this week comes at us, use the above tips to keep focussed and delivering on your tasks.
Forward this on to those in your networks as a free value add. If you’d like to chat about this or setting up your 2019, send a note to strategy@mentorisgroup.com.au as we’d love to help.
Have an awesome week!
